MY POEMS

Many-coloured feather isolated on white background with flourish

An ode to the King: by ADA Abbey

There you sit in the heavens

In majesty and splendour

What can I render?

You’re mighty and awesome

Glorified and great

Always loving and never late

To bless us with what we need,

Because it was for this we were freed.

To be like you

Talk like you

Walk like you upon the earth

Knowing that we are so much more

Than what we think we are worth.

There you sit in the heavens

Waiting patiently for us to arise

And become the sons and daughters

That will drive your Kingdom on this earth

Into lives that need you, yet do not know it

But you are patient because one day they

Will show it.

One day you will become the Sun in their lives

And he who thought he had them bound

Will fall ashamed to the ground.

There you sit in the heavens

In majesty and splendour

What can we render?

Behind the veil: by ADA Abbey

He is working behind the veil

But when you see things around you

Who can tell?

People fighting

People dying

But he is working behind the veil

Hypocrites, liars, those that cheat

And tell, those that make promises

And break them and say all is well

But he is working behind the veil

There is uproar and upheaval

No one seems to care

But take heart

He is working things out

Behind the veil

So don’t lose hope

Don’t throw in the towel

Within a short time you will

Know how

The night seems long

The fight seems strong

He knows, fear not

It won’t be long

Soon you will see the light

Breakthrough the dead of night

For he is working

He is working

Behind the veil

Covid: by ADA Abbey

Covid - a deadly disease that has brought so many people to their knees

Covid - a deadly disease that has torn through our cities as it pleased

But we have hope

Not all is lost

For our Lord Jesus he counted the cost

His death on the cross was not in vain

He is able to deliver us from this pain

We must keep up our spirits

And not lose focus

The victory is won when we know he holds us!

So Covid you have done your worst

100,000 lives is that your curse?

We refuse to be moved

We refuse to beaten

For our Lord Jesus Christ…

Now is HIS SEASON

Blooming anatomical human heart with eye.

Eyes: by ADA Abbey

He looks down from heaven

And what do I see

His loving eyes

Looking at me

Eyes of compassion

Eyes that are strong

Eyes that choose

To overlook my wrong

Eyes that are loving

Eyes that show care

Eyes that know how

To show he is near

Eyes that guide

Eyes that can hide

Eyes that know when

To smile and be kind

Eyes that are gentle

Eyes that see pain

Eyes that know when to

Keep watch again & again

Eyes that see through me

Eyes that do know me

Eyes that pour comfort

Down and around me

I look up to heaven

And what do I see

His eyes looking at me

He protects me you see!

You solved the puzzle: by ADA Abbey

I am dignified and defiant

I am bold and I am strong

Is it something I have done?

No it is my God

So how can I be wrong?

The world will try to silence me

But my God has given me a voice

To render His praise and make him

Known, for this I have no choice.

But then again I can choose and I

Chose to make him known for

I know the world has no other answer

We cannot make it on our own

So we are the voice

To the world to let them

Know he has come

And on the cross he did it all

The work he has done

So all the world needs to do

Is to arise and recognise

That he paid the price

To make all things nice

So stop the struggle

Look to him

He solved the puzzle

My Guide: by Ada Abbey

He is my guide

I have the privilege of

Having him by my side

He is my guide

There is certainly no where

I want to hide

Each day I wake up

He is there,

Can you imagine, someone

That’s always near

He leads and directs me

He always corrects me

There’s nothing I want more

Than for him to protect me

He is my guide

I have the privilege

Of having him always

By my side

It’s not Elusive: by Ada Abbey

No it’s not elusive

It’s not difficult to find

People just say that

But it’s all in the mind

No it’s not elusive

It’s not hard to achieve

All you need to do

It’s know in whom you believe

Life is always full

Of ups and downs

But never let people

Feel you have fallen

To the ground

So rise up, dust off the defeat

Stand tall on your two feet

There is hope because there’s tomorrow

No one should make you sorrow

Victory is assured

For there are many open doors

So no it’s not elusive

It’s not difficult to find

People just like to say that

But know it’s all in your mind
